The ongoing negotiations for an India-US trade agreement also being called a global strategic partnership, has raised the alarm among India’s farming communities. While many of the negotiations are going on behind closed doors, with little or no information made available to the public, this video by the Indian Coordination Committee of Farmers’ Movement (ICCFM) tries to explain the dangers of this agreement. ICCFM is a coalition of farmers unions like Bhartiya Kisan Union, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangham, and more.
The following videos summarises the many analyses from trade experts and researchers, and explains why such an agreement with the US runs counter to the claims of getting “vocal-for-local.”
